Version 9.27 (build 9614)

Please note: LIDS Publishing Server 9.8 and newer requires license LIDSPBS.APPRUN. Because of this license support, LIDS Application Server 9.7 and newer is required.

This file contains additional information about a new product version. As well, it contains information about new features and errors that have been cleared since the previous version.

Installation

When installing, follow instructions in documentation.

Environment update

It is necessary to have the following updates installed in the operating system:

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8

⚠️ Warning: Windows Server 2019 is not suitable as a platform for the LIDS Publishing Server 9.4 and newer, as .NET 4.8 does not function properly on it, despite the official documentation claiming that it should.

Microsoft Visual C++ x64 Redistributable Package which includes Microsoft Visual C++ 2022 x64 libraries and newer. For details see: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-US/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170

It is also strongly recommended that all available operating system updates are installed.

Database storage since version 7.3.1 SP1

Database storage is used for definitions of tasks and users as well as for publications logging. Therefore there are grand changes in installation of server part and its configuration.

New installation in version 7.3.0

Installer packages in msi format are prepared since version 7.3.0 to install products. It is possible to choose installation of 32bit version or 64bit version.

Setup wizard is in English by default, for other language versions run the installation by selecting the appropriate bat-file.

Directory structure change

In version 7.2.3 the following has been changed:

a directory where tasks.xml file is saved, from %PROGRAMDATA%\BERIT\PublishingServer to %PROGRAMDATA%\Asseco\PublishingServer
a directory where configuration and report files are saved, from %APPDATA%\BERIT\PublishingServer to %APPDATA%\Asseco\PublishingServer
LIDS Publishing Server console installation default directory, from Program Files (x86)\BERIT\LIDS Publishing Server Console to Program Files (x86)\Asseco\LIDS Publishing Server Console
a folder in Start menu where program folder containing shortcuts for starting and uninstalling the application as well as for opening the documentation is created, from Berit to Asseco

To preserve used configuration (e.g. defined tasks groups, list of users names and passwords, etc.) it is needed to copy appropriate files.

Support of new settings type since version 7.2.2

Only settings of predefined map outputs type are supported for map outputs printing and saving. Settings of map layout type are not supported any more.

Following modifications in %COMMONAPPDATA%\Berit\PublishingServer\tasks.xml are necessary:

its version must be upgraded to version 3.0
ber:plottingLayout must be replaced by ber:plottingDefinition
identifications of original settings of map layouts type must be replaced by identifications of appropriate predefined map outputs
