Support Lifecycle

This page describes the support model for the core SAMO products — SAMO LIDS Application Server, SAMO Dynamic App and the desktop clients LIDS Edit / Explorer. Every release line moves through two phases: Active Support (new features and regular releases) and Maintenance Support (bug-fix hotfixes only, on demand). After the Maintenance Support window ends, any further support is provided as extended paid support under a separate agreement.

Lifecycle overview

The diagram below summarises which branches are in Active Support, Maintenance Support or approaching end-of-support over the coming months.

The chart is illustrative — it shows which branches overlap in time. Concrete release dates for the 10.x Active Support line are listed in the table below.


Status legend

Active Support   Current production line — new features and regular releases.

Maintenance Support   Stabilized line — only bug-fix hotfixes on demand, no new features.

SAMO LIDS Application Server

Version 10.x   Active Support

The 10.x branch is in Active Support — the current production line, receiving both new features and bug-fix releases. Releases are published on a fixed monthly cadence, the first Wednesday of each month.

Version 9.27   Maintenance Support since 6 May 2026

Application Server 9.27 was released on 6 May 2026 as the last Active Support release of the 9.x line and entered Maintenance Support on the same day. Going forward, the 9.27 branch receives only bug-fix hotfixes, published on demand without a fixed cadence.

Version 8.25   Maintenance, ending 31 Dec 2026

The 8.25 branch is currently in Maintenance Support. The Maintenance Support window ends 31 December 2026. After that date, any support continues only as extended paid support under a separate agreement — see below.


SAMO Dynamic App

Version 10.x   Active Support

Dynamic App 10.x is the current Active Support line, replacing the 9.x line from 13 April 2026 (first release 10.0.0). A single 10.x release is compatible with both LIDS Application Server 9.27 and 10.x, so the same Dynamic App release works against the current Maintenance Support server and the new Active Support server.

Version 9.27   End of line — 22 April 2026

The Dynamic App 9.x line ended with its final release 9.27.1 on 22 April 2026. No further 9.27 updates or maintenance hotfixes will be issued — the line is fully superseded by 10.x from 13 April 2026 onwards.

No 9.27 Maintenance Support branch

There is no separate 9.27 Maintenance Support branch for Dynamic App. Customers on 9.27 should plan migration to 10.x, which is the only ongoing line and is compatible with both Server 9.27 and Server 10.x.

Version 9.8   Maintenance, ending 31 Dec 2026

Dynamic App 9.8 is the Maintenance Support companion for Application Server 8.25. Its support window mirrors the server: Maintenance Support ends 31 December 2026, after which support is available only as extended paid support — see below.


LIDS Edit / Explorer

The desktop clients LIDS Edit and LIDS Explorer share the same release scheme. From mid-2026 the product line transitions from 9.27 to a single 10.x branch, aligned with Application Server 10.x.

Version 10.x   Active Support

LIDS Edit / Explorer 10.x is the current Active Support line, replacing 9.27 from 3 June 2026. From that point on, releases follow the same monthly cadence as Application Server 10.x — version numbers and release dates are aligned (first release 10.0 on 3 June 2026, see the Server release schedule).

A single 10.x release is compatible with both LIDS Application Server 9.27 and 10.x, so the same desktop client works against the current Maintenance Support server and the new Active Support server.

Version 9.27   Last release 6 May 2026

The last scheduled 9.27 release was on 6 May 2026. Until 10.x ships on 3 June 2026, ad-hoc 9.27 releases remain possible if critically needed, though none are planned. From 3 June 2026 the line is fully superseded by 10.x — no further 9.27 updates afterwards.

No 9.27 Maintenance Support branch

There is no separate 9.27 Maintenance Support branch for LIDS Edit / Explorer. Customers on 9.27 should plan migration to 10.x, which is the only ongoing line and is compatible with both Server 9.27 and Server 10.x.

Version 8.25   Maintenance, ending 31 Dec 2026

LIDS Edit / Explorer 8.25 is the Maintenance Support companion for Application Server 8.25. Its support window follows the same scheme as the server and Dynamic App 9.8: Maintenance Support ends 31 December 2026, after which support is available only as extended paid support — see below.

Extended paid support

After the Maintenance Support window of a given branch ends, any further support is provided only under a separate, paid agreement. This applies in particular to:

  • SAMO LIDS Application Server 8.25 — after 31 December 2026
  • SAMO Dynamic App 9.8 — after 31 December 2026
  • LIDS Edit / Explorer 8.25 — after 31 December 2026

Extended paid support is intended for customers who need to keep running a version beyond its standard end-of-Maintenance-Support date. Scope, response times and pricing are agreed on a case-by-case basis.

Planning an upgrade?

The recommended migration target is Application Server 9.27 (Maintenance Support) together with Dynamic App 10.x and LIDS Edit / Explorer 10.x, or directly the 10.x Active Support branch if you need access to new features as they ship.
